New Christmas Hugs ‘n Kisses patterns released
'
As promised I have three brand new patterns for you all – with plenty of time to stitch them all for Christmas!
When Lynette sent me a bundle of her Scandinavian Christmas fabrics back in May I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them –it just took me a little while to do it! So I hope you may be able to find a little left in your stash or local store to make these – or of course it will work in any fabrics!
So, firstly I wanted to make something in memory of my Gran’s Christmas Pudding – For as long as I can remember my Grandma made the pudding for our family celebrations –whether we were camping on a river, at one of our family homes or in a caravan park somewhere in the state out would come the famous Christmas pudding… Always the same yummy rich moist pudding with her accompanying custard and cream… So this table runner is my tribute to that wonderful tradition… I have even included her recipe in the pattern – yes I did make sure it was written down before she left us…
The project includes stitchery and simple embroidery – and I have included full diagrams of each stitch in case some are new to you
Yes some circle appliqué – but do not panic over that – just use my failproof glue stick appliqué technique – all explained in the pattern
And some simple piecing. – It will all come together very nicely and you will be sure to impress…
Of course when some friends saw this one in progress I was told that I just had to design some placemats and coasters to match it – and there was some fabric leftover so next came:
This pattern includes instructions and requirements to make a set of four placematsand four coasters
And just for good luck – a Candlemat Of course you could make as many as you need to set your Christmas table for dinner.
Now if you wanted to make both patterns then just gather a fat eight pack of fabrics and you will have enough to do both.
I believe Sarah may have a few kits ready for you right now.
My third new pattern is the Festivity Stocking.
This was a very popular project at our weekend Christmas Gathering and many of the ladies almost finished their embroidered panel. I just love the look of variegated red thread on linen – a classic look and lovely to work with.
The pattern includes the large stocking – which is only about 6” high and then the little mini stockings which if I have the time will be hanging on my tree at Christmas for all 17 of us who are sharing our family Christmas – I can see candy canes or little lipsticks for the girls hiding in their personalised stocking. The full alphabet is included in the pattern so you can design your own family names.
I have included an extensive stitch guide in the pattern to help you with all of these new stitches – but of course you have already learnt them in Stitched Sundays!
There are also your favourite iron on transfers included in all of these patterns – I know – we loooove to just quickly transfer those designs and get straight to the stitching instead of worrying about the lightbox..
So, a giveaway as promised is to be done…. Leave a comment with your favourite pattern and why – and maybe a Christmas memory you may have from your childhood and on Friday of this week I will choose the three lucky winners.
If you can’t wait that long to get started – they are available here now.
hugs to you all, and remember its only 54 days to go..
Helen
