What is it with rusty things?

Just read your lovely entry about your grandmother and crocheting. I found out after my paternal grandmother passed away that she was the embroideress in the town in Austria where my dad was born. I never even knew she sewed! I have a great niece that I'm working hard to get interested in sewing and embroidery. It's so important to pass down thru the generations.

Do not look at the rust, look at the texture, form and colours in the pile of rusty things. That is what I see.I love old things and that they were once useful a long time ago.
