Tradewinds Applique template pack

The Tradewinds block of the month quilt is a medallion style pieced and appliqued quilt designed by Kathy Doughty for Universal magazines and Quilters Companion. The patterns will be available over six issues of the magazine, which is available by subscription, in local news agencies, at your local quilt store, or by digital subscription. 

Kathy uses and has used our easy turned edge applique method using iron on leave in HNK applique paper templates to make much of her quilt. We have custom laser cut the required shapes for you to save tracing and hand cutting for this method as explained in the instructions.

We have also included templates for the scallops and circles in the quilt. In the instructions Kathy suggested Eppiflex templates and Karen Kay Buckley perfect circles - or making your own mylar or cardboard templates to make these. Using the Applique paper templates for these as well as the applique shapes will make your process seamless, quicker and easier so we included them all for you.

The original quilt uses the Tradewinds fabric collection by Kathy for Figo fabrics.

Note: we are not selling the fabrics, please visit a participating store who is doing the full BOM program to order your fabric kits. 

The templates may be cut in layers and need to be separated before use. They may have slightly browned edges, which does not affect their use at all.
