Heat Press Batting Together

Details
Heat Press Batting Together is a 1-1/2 inch by 15-yard roll of cloth tape designed to fuse the edges of batting together. It’s soft, thin, stretchable, and easy to stitch by hand or machine. This tape works with any batting, regardless of fabric content.
Directions for Use:
Iron settings are critical for proper application.
- Test your iron with the tape and batting: For 100% polyester batting, use a low setting (for high synthetic fibers) and quickly slide the iron over the batting.
- For high loft 100% polyester, you may need to use an appliqué sheet over the tape.
- For mixed synthetic battings, a wool setting often works well.
- The batting may appear flat after applying heat, but it will return to its fluffy texture as it cools.
- For large quilt battings (93” or larger), use weights on either side to hold the batting in place.
- Lay the tape over the cut edges and glide the iron over it without applying pressure. Simply smooth out the tape using the heat of the iron.
The tape needs to be applied only to one side of the batting. It holds up through washing and dry cleaning, won’t gum up needles, and can be stitched by hand or machine.
